Baseball

The national sport and passion of the Dominican Republic is baseball or “Beisbol” as the Dominicans call it. Today more than one in six players in the American Major League is from Latin America, the majority of them coming from the Dominican Republic. We at the Golden Dolphin Villa are just as passionate about America’s pastime. We have two teams, The Dolphins and The Sharks. The two teams are made up of local ballplayers that one day hope to play in the American big leagues.

Not all of our guests have had a game played here, but those that have, have overwhelmingly said it made for one of the most memorable vacation moments of their lives not just this trip. What makes the experience so unique is you can be player manager or coach… or all three. Just remember if you don’t want to be staring down an 85 mile an hour fast ball to yell out “Lento por favor”…. (slow please) If this sounds as exciting to you as it is to us.
